Qualify Meta Ads leads on WhatsApp (before they go cold)
How to go from a Click to WhatsApp ad to a qualified lead: first reply, questions, and handoff to the sales rep.
A Click to WhatsApp ad (Facebook or Instagram) does not create a lead in a CRM. It creates an open chat. If the sales rep is on a visit, that CPC evaporates.
Qualifying Meta Ads leads on WhatsApp is answering at once, asking three questions, and passing to a human only what is hot.
What happens in the ad
The user taps the button, lands in WhatsApp and often sends a prefilled message ("I want information"). That opens the 24-hour window. You do not need a template to reply. You need to be there.
The shared inbox receives the thread with a "Meta Ads" tag. If each ad uses a different link or a different text, you can tell which campaign it is.
The short script (human or AI)
- Confirm it is the product or the location from the ad.
- Need (enrollment, property, demo, appointment).
- Timeline and budget or area.
- Slot for a call or visit, or close.
AI agents do 1–3 at 23:00. The sales rep steps in at 4.
Do not use an 8-button menu. The user comes from an ad, not an IVR.
What not to do
- Leave the ad's WhatsApp on a personal phone.
- Send the full price list without asking.
- Re-remarket on WhatsApp to someone who only asked, without marketing opt-in.
- Measure only Ads conversations and not appointments or sales in the inbox.
Cost
You pay Ads + Meta per message + the panel (ManyContacts from €49/month, 3 users). From 1 October 2026, service replies also count after 1,000 free per month per number. An unqualified lead costs more than those cents.
Next step
Look at average time to first reply on chats that come from Ads. If it is over a minute, set up the inbox or book a demo.
