WhatsApp Business API pricing in Spain (2026)

What Meta charges per WhatsApp API message in Spain as of 1 October 2026, what the platform charges, and a sample invoice.

People search WhatsApp Business API pricing and find three different figures. One is Meta. Another is the software. The third is a “per conversation” price that no longer exists. This guide uses Spain’s rules and rates in force on 1 October 2026. That day’s change is explained in October 2026 price change.

If the channel is still unclear, start with what the API is.

Two layers (if you mix them, the budget lies)

1. Meta. Charges every delivered message by category and the recipient’s country. The official partner passes those rates through; they do not “gift” you marketing.

2. Platform (the software). Inbox, users, AI, CRM. In ManyContacts: €49/month with 3 users; extras at €18; AI at €0.20 per conversation the agent handles. 7-day trial, no card.

Do not compare a €19 SaaS that then bills you for the connector with “free WhatsApp API”. The API has no monthly Meta fee. It has messages.

Meta rates in Spain (EUR, excluding 21% VAT)

Official Meta rate card. Check it if they publish a new CSV; these are the reference figures as of 1 Oct 2026 for a Spanish recipient.

CategoryWhat it isPrice / message
MarketingCampaign, promo, re-engagement€0.0585
UtilityOrder, appointment, shipment, invoice€0.0166
AuthenticationOTP, login€0.0166
ServiceFree text inside the 24 h€0 for the first 1,000 of the month per number; then €0.0166

Notes:

  • Utility and authentication drop with monthly volume (Meta tiers).
  • The marketing in Spain increase was 1 July 2026. 1 October does not touch that row again; what changes in October is billing for service and for utility inside the window.
  • A message to Mexico or India does not use this table. It bills the recipient’s country.

VAT (21% in Spain) sits on top of Meta’s invoice or the partner’s, depending on how you are billed.

Sample month (Spain)

A team sending to ES mobiles:

  • 2,000 marketing (campaign) → 2,000 × 0.0585 = €117
  • 1,500 utility (appointments and orders) → 1,500 × 0.0166 = €24.90
  • 3,000 service (team or AI replies) → 1,000 free + 2,000 × 0.0166 = €33.20

Meta ≈ €175 + VAT. ManyContacts: €49 if you fit in 3 users. AI only if you turn it on.

Before 1 October those 3,000 service messages would have been €0 from Meta. That is why the October 2026 article matters if you have a lot of support.

What is not in the rate card

  • WhatsApp Business app (the green icon on the phone): does not use this table. It also does not give you a team inbox or official campaigns.
  • Number quality. If they mark you as spam, they limit you. That costs more than any cent.
  • Rejected templates. They are not billed if they are not delivered; you do lose time.

How not to overpay

  • Do not use utility to say “ok” if a service message is enough (and you still have quota).
  • Do not fire marketing at anyone who did not give opt-in.
  • One number, not twelve, if the 1,000-service quota is per business phone.
  • Measure messages, not “conversations”. That unit no longer bills.

Next step

Ask your partner for last month’s breakdown by category. Then pick software. Try ManyContacts or book a demo.
